PROVINCETOWN Award-winning actress, comedian and dog lover Lily Tomlin will perform a special benefit concert, The D Word under the stars in Provincetown, Mass., on Saturday, Aug. 29. The show will take place under a tent at the end of MacMillan Pier in the middle of Provincetown Harbor. The show begins at 8 pm, with a silent auction of over 60 dog bowls hand-painted by local Provincetown artists running from 5-7 pm held just outside the tent. There will also be a live auction immediately after the show emceed by Tomlin and international comedy star Kate Clinton. Clinton will also act as host of the benefit performance. The concert is a benefit for Pilgrim Bark Park, a new privately funded public dog park built over the winter by the Provincetown Dog Park Association. The Association is a 501 (c) 3 organization formed to create and maintain the off-leash dog park, which has partnered with Provincetown art community to install sculpture and other works of art in the park.
